Caleb Hern is an artist, and as an artist he paints a picture on his canvas that exudes his passions from the clarinet to the audience. "Art is not about what you see but what you make others see," - Degas, this quote reflects his mantra when it comes to musical performance. Currently a freshman and Southern Methodist University, Caleb is a member of the Meadows Wind Ensemble, the Meadows Symphony Orchestra and SYZYGY. Caleb has been apart of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra Wind Symphony under the direction of Nicholas Williams from UNT. As well,
Caleb has been recognized as most outstanding soloist at Texas State Solo and Ensemble for both his solo and ensemble piece. He has played across Europe with the Lone Star Ambassadors of music and is currently being taught by Paul Garner from the DSO. Past teachers include Rebecca Wenck, Doctor Scott from UNT, Doctor Cole from UNT, and Deb Fabian from the Dallas Winds. Caleb also played with the Dallas Winds in a side by side concert with the GDYOWS and placed fourth in the GDYO concerto competition. As he continues to pursue his musical journey with a B.A. double major of Clarinet performance and Business, he hopes to illustrate a canvas for all to see.
